Meditraq is a separate business unit of the Tjoa Group. Its sister company is Tjoapack, a pharmaceutical contract packaging company with facilities in the Netherlands and Hungary.
The Meditraq: Centre of Excellence was created following work that was completed for the EU Bridge WP6 Track and Trace trial (link) in 2007 in which Tjoapack participated.
Meditraq was set up as a vehicle in which Tjoapack can share its knowledge and IP with partners to create new exciting solutions to add value in the supply chain of pharmaceuticals. The idea is born out of the conviction that the experience of Tjoapack in packaging and its participation in many supply chain safety and efficiency projects can and should be turned into new solutions. Tjoapack has 20 years of experience in pharmaceutical packaging and is a leading edge contract packaging company.
We firmly believe that real and working solutions can be developed faster when several innovative and competent companies with their own strengths and specialities put their heads together and test their ideas in a life production environment. Furthermore solutions that have to work in a GMP environment can be best developed, trialed and validated in an environment where GMP compliance is daily routine for over 20 years and in depth knowledge about this subject is available.
Therefore we are constantly building new partnerships with companies and entities that are willing to develop or try out new technologies and/or systems with us.

The Meditraq: Centre of Excellence is a world’s first for pharmaceutical track & trace and is based at one of the Tjoapack pharmaceutical packing facilities in Holland. Meditraq currently has a fully working and fully operational manufacturing line that actually meets and exceeds all global coding and packaging track and trace requirements known today. Meditraq can demonstrate and provide coding & traceability from the first point of manufacture to pallet level within a validated pharmaceutical environment.
Manufacturing line skills and knowledge are difficult to find and even more difficult to implement. Understanding the complexities of the new track and trace systems that effect coding, marking and data is one thing, being able to design, implement, install, train, maintain, upgrade and develop systems is even more difficult and important.
